Initially i started this blog as a photoblog depicting pictures from all my travels. But lately i've realized that i need to share some of my travel experiences too. So here it goes.. celebrating Life and its wonderful experiences.

BLISS

29th Dec 2012, New Delhi

Sometime wrong turn can be bliss. On my recent visit to Assam our driver took a turn which we were not in agreement with. But to my surprise it turned out to be a blessing.

This picture was the out-product of that turn.

I spent the whole day putting the lights, diyas, flowers etc in place and the result was quite satisfying.
Here is one of my favorite shots of the day….

Indulgence !

24th Oct 2012, New Delhi

A long awaited holiday during this hectic period is much appreciated … and indulging in one’s favorite activity gives another reason to smile…

This picture is the result of my wife’s indulgence with food and mine with photography…

Indeed a truly delicious dish on a sunny afternoon. J

S K Y

10th Sept 2012, New Delhi

For last few weeks I’ve been clicking a lot of clouds and surprised to see the varied forms, colors it takes everyday…..

This pic is one attempt to capture the color contrast it forms during sunset. At one end the black clouds are prevalent while the lighter clouds take the orange to form a brilliant contrast..
Isn’t it amazing??

Few of the other clicks which I had taken recently are

And a load of them yet to be processed and uploaded..

illusion

7th Sept 2012, 2012

An image can be an illusion. It’s left to the viewer’s eye to dig beneath it and it’s the creator only, who knows the truth….

With new technologies all around to assist, it’s a normal norm now a day. Is it good? Does it show the true talent behind the camera?

There can be many answers to these questions but editing itself is a talent and we should appreciate that…

P.S: A bit of try on editing…lot more to learn but quite satisfied with my first try.

LOST WORLD

27th August 2012, New Delhi

With the weather becoming more pleasant it has become much easier to roam around the city…last one month I’ve been to few of the places and these clicks are from my short trips only.

This pic has been taken at the Purana Qila - a lesser known place to the people as compared to it more famous counterparts Red fort. Once a capital of Delhi sultanate now lying in one corner with not even a mention in top must visit places in Delhi. To my surprise this place was built by the Pandavas of Mahabharata era as Indraprasta (a lesser known facts to people).

The columns with windows are part of the Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque within the compound of the fort.

Glory

12th Aug 2012, New Delhi

With London Olympics coming to an end this picture is dedicated to the spirit of the sportsmanship and to all the Indians who have brought glory to the country.

It’s high time for the country to focus on other sports than just Cricket. In this century the medal count is increasing in each subsequent Olympics for the country, but this is not fair when compared to a billion plus population of the country.

With a count of 6 medals I think the wave will turn and more and more people will take up new sports other than Cricket.

P O N D E R

29th July 2012, New Delhi

Sitting alone on a Sunday evening and staring at a distant sky, it becomes difficult for me to concentrate on a single point or a thought. So many things to do and the list are endless.

But thankfully there are few things which always take me away from the reality for better – photography!! At least something on which I can put my mind endlessly and each time I come up with something new to ponder about.

@Hauz Khas Village: This click was taken at HauzKhas Village few weeks back after the onset of monsoon in Delhi. I think I got the perfect timing to be there, else with dust all around its very hard to get ideal condition to click in Delhi.

It’s been a decade living is Delhi now. Looking back I wonder that this city has so much to give….Its vividness, a great history and the spirit has always lured me.
It’s  a place where I played with my imagination and saw them come true…

This click is to celebrate the spirit of this amazing city…Hope the sun brings a better tomorrow.

The Royal Tank - Hauz-Khas

11th July 2012, New Delhi

Just other day I came across a book on Delhi. It actually enticed me to revisit Delhi once again.
With monsoon coming in and the weather becoming more and more pleasant I thought of starting my trip right away.
With this excitement I visited Hauz Khas Village last week.  To my surprise i find it entirely a different place…. Going through the narrow lane of the so called village I saw quite interesting boutiques, art gallery, restaurant and cafes… all full with young crowd. It felt like I was in a college campus. Just after crossing the narrow lanes we were into the ruins from the 14th / 15th century (Tughlaq dynasty). … Overlooking the ruins you can see the royal pond (Hauz Khas) built during the same time… The renovated lake looks stunning with clear weather (No dust because of recent pouring)..

The pictures was taken atop the ruins overlooking the setting sun…

MARIGOLD

08th July 2012, New Delhi

Marigold is abundant in India and is used in every celebration…but hardly ever I had stopped over to notice its beautiful symmetry. After clicking only I realized how these petals comes together to give such a symmetrical shape. I changed it further to monochrome to clearly see the depth of the shape.
with Single color it's hard to notice such details.

A beautiful thing

05th July 2012, New Delhi

No matter what shape, color it takes, a beautiful thing will always remain beautiful
Isn’t the same thing goes for we human too?

The picture was taken in my kitchen garden. I first kept it to its true color but then thought of checking it in monochrome. And here is the result.

smile :-)

10th June 2012, New Delhi

Sometime when we think deeply we realize that the world is full of people of different religion, caste, appearance, language, and  what not......?? Its tricky... there are numerous such classification.
But a single thing which unites them , which has no language, religion is their smile - a common thread (and a moment of Joy) which unites us together.

Oh Delhi !! Is it Summer?

12th May 2012, New Delhi

This part of the year is not like a normal Delhi’s summer. I’ve seen more cloudy days than a peak summer days this season…

Beautiful weather with pleasant evenings are IN this summer…clouds, winds, rain are no longer for a wish but a reality. And after pouring if you can witness a beautiful sunset then don’t get surprised. You are still in Delhi :-)

Oh Delhi! you are becoming beautiful…!!

variegated slums

22nd April 2012, New Delhi

I was in the car waiting for the traffic light to go green and suddenly I saw these slums on the hills near Vasant Vihar. On a regular day hardly anyone will notice these slums because of obvious reason.

But at that moment the colorful patches on the walls against the white clouds and blue sky were creating a different view of the slums. The contrast created was worth capturing.

P.S: Wish I could have been better in editing pictures in Photoshop.

cornered..

1st April 2012, New Delhi

I somehow love this type of composition - a single subject against a single color background. In these composition the subject is always the cynosure of the frame...and fill up the rest of empty frame.

The subject and the background completes a story..

I did click a number of such frames but hardly got time to share them.
One of the other favorite such click was - reaching out for the sky...

Shot from my tiny garden

15th March 2012

Lately i have been devoting my weekends on my small kitchen garden.
And in past few months i've been able to give life to few of those dead plants.

This shot is of the first flower of my small, tiny garden. The pleasure of capturing the first flower of my own hard work is totally different.

More to come from my garden in coming days.... will keep updating this space.

Holi - a tribute to colors

08th March 2012, New Delhi

Holi being the festival of colors gives us the ample opportunity to bring the colors back to life. But sadly, now a day people hardly stay true to its essence and uses colors which are dark/dull. These dark colors do not resonate at all to what the festival of color stands for!

This picture is taken from the rangoli made especially for today. For me, colors have always been a fascination. I can hardly resist myself to take out my camera to capture the contrast, vibrancy created by colors.

An afternoon Silhouette!

1st March 2012, New Delhi

Wherever you go in Delhi, one thing is quite common - Its the population of pigeon. They are in abundant and sometime they do make the skyline beautiful - worth capturing.

I took this picture from my home on a sunny Sunday. The silhouette of the pigeons against the blue sky and the contrasting white clouds make a perfect composition.

The Narrow lanes of Chandani Chowk

25th Feb 2011, New Delhi

One can imagine the norrow lanes at Chandani Chowk on a saturday evening - hardly any space to move around. I went with my parents hoping to take them to the famous Parathe wali gali but looking at their faces we took a U-turn midway... they could hardly manage to move in these lanes wilt people all around. :-(

A must visit place for all especially when these lanes has a long existence since the Mughal period and has seen every change in History of Delhi in front of it. A rich history and culture to witness over here.

Red carpet welcome

11th Feb 2011, New Delhi

It's the bride and groom who get all the attention in a marriage. But its rest of the people who makes the moment more special... a lifetime time memories to linger for years to come.

This moment was captured at my sister's wedding - the fun behind welcoming the groom.
A true red carpet welcome....
