The Blue City

30th April 2014, New Delhi

A picturesque view of the Jodhpur city looks so mesmerizing. A lot of people refer the city of Jodhpur as the "Blue City" and you can guess why by just looking at the above picture. Its because of all the beautiful houses painted in blue across the city and especially around the Mehranghar Fort (can be seen at the backdrop).

What i got to know is that all the Brahmins in the city paint their houses in blue. One among the various nt reason for it is to distinguish their houses(themselves) from rest of the population.
And over the decades more and more Brahmins family settling around the fort has turned it into blue.

A trial

15th April 2014, New Delhi

I see a number of my friends and acquaintances clicking birds a lot and that gives me enough encouragement to try bird photography. In fact, I love those beautiful creators and have the patience to wait for the perfect shot but lately I realized that I do not have enough knowledge about birds and also the right equipment (Need at least 400 mm lens) to click them.

So I started some different shots of birds with whatever lenses I have (250 mm being the max focal length). This picture is one of those trials which I’m sharing.  Hope to get more of those shots to keep my interest in birds alive, till I’ve the right lenses.

Also it’s another favorite type of shots of mine – subject against a solid or white background.
